Arthur L. “Lyle” Ehrlich, 77, of Salina, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in his home, surrounded by all of his loved ones. Lyle was born in Russell on Sept. 1, 1936, to Wava and Arthur “Art” Ehrlich. Lyle grew up in the Russell area and attended school in Russell and Wilson. During this time, he met and fell in love with Helen “Lorece” Branch, and the two were united in marriage on Sept. 12, 1956.
Lyle and Lorece were blessed with four children: daughter, Pamela William, son, Jon (Carla) Ehrlich, daughter, Teresa (Kevin) Dinkel, and daughter, Suzy (Joel) Seed, all of Salina.
Lyle worked at Red Dale Coach Co. in Colorado and in Texas during the early years of their marriage. After 14 years with the company, the family moved back to Russell to be closer to family. During this time, he was employed at Red Tiger Drilling in Russell as an assistant manager. In 1988, he began working for ElDorado National Bus Co. in Salina, where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
After retirement, “Papa” enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who always managed to keep him busy smiling and laughing.
He also enjoyed doing many household projects and carpentry work in his own home, as well as helping his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. He also enjoyed golf and took every opportunity possible to be on the golf course. He loved his dogs and always made time for them. He enjoyed a good game of solitaire on his computer, or even those spontaneous road trips.
Lyle was a true family man and a great friend. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Cremation was chosen. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Ryan Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or Tammy Walker Cancer Center, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Leo Fay Burger, 88, Ada, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Son of Frank and Mamie Burger, both deceased, Leo was born on June 29, 1925 in rural Ada, Kansas. After serving overseas in the Navy during World War II, Leo returned to Ada, Kansas and met his wife, Gloria (Slansky) Burger, at the Bohemian Hall. They married on April 18, 1949, and lived on the family farm near Ada, Kansas until they relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 2010 to be near family.
Leo was preceded in death by his two siblings, Glenn Burger and Verna (Burger) Dalton. Remaining family members include his wife, Gloria Burger; their two children and their spouses, Steve and Linda Burger of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Luetta (Burger) and Jim Flournoy of Kansas City; two grandchildren, Steve Burger of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Becca Flournoy of Kansas City, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Allison Burger of Moore, Oklahoma; and a great-great-grandson, Izaak Burger of Moore, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 19 at the Antioch Baptist Church, Ada. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery with military honors. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Antioch Baptist Church in Ada, Kansas are suggested.
