Updated: Sentencing for Brown delayed

Antonio Brown srThe sentencing for a 29-year-old Salina man convicted of killing a 14-month-old toddler two years ago has been continued.

Antonio Brown was scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning after being convicted earlier in October by a Riley County jury for first degree murder, two counts, of child abuse, and obstruction in the October 2011 death of Clayden Urbanek. The trial was moved to Riley County earlier this year after a change of venue was granted. Saline County Attorney Ellen Mitchell said Friday that the delay is due to the defense not receiving the Pre sentence investigation and the new sentencing date is now November 22nd at 1:30p.m.

The mother of the toddler Brittney Betzold is currently serving a 13-year prison sentence for second degree murder and child abuse.
