Frank J. Thelen III, 59, of Salina, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. He was born May 25, 1954, in Fremont, Ohio, the son of Frank and Marybelle (Miller) Thelen II.

Frank worked as a diesel technician for Foley Equipment Co. the past 15 years. He previously worked 20 years for Western Auto. He was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church, 4th degree Knights of Columbus and served on the Diesel Advisory Board at Salina Tech. He enjoyed camping and being with family and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tony.

Survivors include his wife, Elena; son, Frank Thelen IV, of Wichita; daughter, Mary Kay (Rocko) Talley, of Salina; sons, Sam (Kristine) Thelen and Andy Thelen, all of Wichita; brother, Dennis (Elaine) Thelen, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; sisters, Mary Lou Thelen, of Salina;, and Ann (Ryan) Hunter, of Wichita; grandchildren, Braxton and Kenzie Talley; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, with a vigil beginning at 7 p.m., and the family receiving friends from 4-7 p.m., all at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St Mary’s Catholic Church, with private inurnment at a later date.

Barry L. Hutton, 59, of Salina, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, in Wichita. He was born June 14, 1954, in Hampton Court, England, the son of Russell and Audrey (Cullen) Hutton.

Barry was a United States Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a welder for El Dorado Bus Company and was known globally for his passion for building dune buggies as “Milton Sandtoys.”

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Rory.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Chance Hutton, of the home; mother, Audrey, of Copperas Cove, Texas; daughters, Shawna (Shane) Scates and Brianna Hutton, both of Salina; and sons, Shannon (Brandy) Hutton, of Salina, and Brandon Hutton, of Manhattan. Barry has 12 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the parlor of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, with a luncheon to follow.

Steve Wiegand, 61, of Salina, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. He was born Feb. 3, 1952, in Inman, the son of Robert and Ernestine (Trissell) Wiegand.

He is survived by a sister, Caroline Gray, of Abilene; brother, Gary Wiegand, of Las Vegas; son. Steven (Jerilane) Wiegand; daughter, Stephanie (Jon) Cooke. of Salina; seven grandchildren, Allison, Alex, Landon, Dylan, Courtney, Alexis and Eli; five nephews, David, Rob, Troy, Kevin and Jeremy; and three nieces, Renae, Ashley and Rae Jean.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Cole; brother Butch Wiegand; and granddaughter, Brianna Rodriquez.

He grew up in Salina and attended Salina Tech and worked for the National Weather Service in Salina, Concordia and Pine Bluff, AR. He was a longtime contributor to the Salina Rescue Mission and among other charities for children. His love of life, always quick with a joke and an ornery smile to follow, was only rivaled by his love for food, especially Cozies. He was a lifelong Royals fan, enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.

There will be no visitation. Cremation was chosen. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Private family inurnment will be held in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.

Edna Faye Kerby, 72, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 2nd, at Hospice of Salina, Kansas.
Edna was born in Salina, Kansas, on May 19, 1941, a daughter of the late Marie (Cossel) Beiganek and Orin Hart.
Survivors include sons, Albert Plunkett, of Kansas City, Kansas; Alvin Plunkett, of Tescott, Kansas; Alan Plunkett, of Carlton, Kansas, Michael Plunkett, of Lindsborg, Kansas; sister, Margaret; 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kerby; sister, Phyllis and brother, Johnny.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Church of Christ, 1646 N. 9th, Salina, Kansas, with Minister Wayne DeWindt, officiating.
