As was the case at thousands of locations across the United States, people gathered in Salina late Monday morning to honor the men and women who have served their county in the military.

It was cloudy, and misty as the 2013 Veterans Day program began at the War Memorial in Sunset Park.

Among those in attendance were veterans from WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and the middle east and all branches of the military,as well as family members.
