At Monday night’s City Commissioners Meeting, questions came up in regards to why the name of the Mayor’s Christmas Party was changed.

City Manager, Jason Gage, said it was an attempt to “broaden the event”. He also stated the even usually gets around 400 guests but they want to increase it.

Gage did make the comment that they were not trying to take Christmas out of the event and ACLU did not contact them.

The event was promptly changed back to the Mayor’s Christmas Party last week after the calls started to come in complaining about the name change.
