Shoplifting a drink and bite to eat at a convenience store Monday morning, lands an Ogden man in jail for possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, theft.
Around 1:30a.m. Monday morning, the KWIK Shop at 305 W. Schilling Road reported a male suspect stole a Mt. Dew and sandwich, and left in black in color Ford Explorer.
Then early Tuesday morning, a Salina Police officer en-route to take a theft report, spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one used by the shoplifter Monday morning, and pulled it over at the Casey’s at 9th and Magnolia.
The Explorer was reported as stolen out of Riley County, and evidence of the stolen sandwich was still in the vehicle, along with methamphetamine.
Adam Thornton was arrested and booked into the Saline County Jail early Tuesday morning.
