A band of light to moderate snow is expected to affect much of the area on New Year’s day, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Snow accumulations of an inch or two will be possible, with the higher totals expected across portions of the Flint Hills. Much colder air will also overspread the entire area on New Year’s day.
