A Hope man was hurt in a crash early Friday afternoon southwest of Abilene. According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol 67-year-old David W. McBride was westbound on 1700 Ave about a half mile east of the Saline/Dickinson County line, when the pickup he was driving hit some slush in the roadway.

The pickup ran into the north ditch, McBride overcorrected into oncoming traffic and reentered the north ditch vaulting over an embankment into a creek bed.

McBride who was wearing a seat-belt was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries. The crash occurred around 1:20p.m.
