Members of the Southeast of Saline chapter in Life Dimensions class created the Chainlinks vs Cancer project for individuals in our local Southeast of Saline community who are fighting cancer. Links were sold at local home football and volleyball games and were chain together with the goal of reaching 100 yards by the last home football game. When a link was a sold, the purchaser could decide the color of the link to buy to support a certain individual and then write a personal note to that cancer patient as well.

The chain links were then separated at the end of the season, and each family was given their chain links and a check for a share of the links sold. Families identified and assisted were: Tammy Thaxon, Kevin Snyder, Joe Hall, The Love Chloe Foundation, and Oscar Campa. We set a goal of selling at last 600 links before our project began. We reached our goal having more than 130 yards of chain links. They were brought out during halftime of each of our home football games showing people how much we appreciated their help in the Chain Links vs. Cancer project. Over all between the Chain Links vs. Cancer and the Oscar movie night, and Love Chloe items we raised a total of $2,629.34.
