William “Bill” Carlin, 64, of Salina, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. He was born April 8, 1949, in Salina to Ardith and Berniece Carlin.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Salina, graduating from Salina High School in 1967. He worked at Westinghouse/Philips Lighting as a linesman from 1967 to 1987. He then moved to Great Plains and worked in the Land Pride division from 1987 to the present.

Outside of work, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and cars, especially his 1973 Corvette.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ardith and Berniece, and a sister, Kathryn Petri, of Longmont, Colo.

He is survived by four children, Stephanie (Shawn) Werner, of Austin, Texas, Mike (Stephanie) Carlin, of Salina, Ryan (Danielle) Carlin, of Timberlake, N.C., and Kendra Carlin, of Key Largo, Fla.; grandchildren, Seth and Shane Gooden, and Cooper, Zachary and Brooks Carlin; one great-granddaughter, Raegan Gooden; and niece and nephew, John Petri and Elizabeth (Dennis) Maggio and son Carter.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Salina Animal Shelter and Hospice of Salina.

Robert Michael Glenn Nicholson, 61, of Salina, passed away Monday, January 13th.

Robert was born in Augsburg, Germany on June 23, 1952, son of the late Emilie (Weidemann) and Glenn Nicholson.

Robert was involved with model airplanes and model trains around Salina.

Survivors include his daughter, Aubrey Nicholson; sisters, Jeannette Salcedo, Judith Dietz, and Jackie Wilson; brothers, David Nicholson, Scott Nicholson, and Keith Nicholson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Nicholson; and brother, Grant Nicholson.

Cremation has been chosen and there will not be visitation.

A Memorial Service will be at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18th, with Pastor Jon M. Fillipi officiating.
