A Salina man who said he was struck by a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot Tuesday morning, is arrested after trying to obtain pain medication at the hospital.
Captain Mike Sweeney said officers were sent to the emergency room at Salina Regional Health Center about 10:30a.m. , after 40-year-old Shannon Boese had told hospital staff he had been hit by a vehicle in the parking lot at Walmart between 9:15 and 9:30a.m.
Police checked security video at the store, and did not see what Boese had claimed.
Officers did see him drive away from the store, and he was arrested for driving with no drivers license, falsely reporting a crime, and trying to unlawfully obtain a prescription for hydrocodone.
