The dry and windy weather has prompted one county in central Kansas to place a ban on outdoor burning, and another county to extend a ban.

Ellsworth County Monday issued a burn ban until further notice.

On Monday Marion County extended a burn ban until at least February 10th.

Residents in both counties are urged to contact local emergency management if they have questions concerning the burn ban.
