For the third time in a row, Salina Area Technical College has been selected in the top 10% of community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Group. Every two years the Aspen Group names the top 10% of community colleges in the nation. This year nine of 26 Kansas institutions were selected in the top 10%. Salina Tech was nominated in 2011, 2013, and for the 2015 award (the winner receives $1,000,000). Only four of Kansas 26 two year colleges were recognized three years in a row. Aspen Group uses a variety of performance statistics to recognize the top 10%, including:
