Screenshot 2014-02-11 16.01.45Mr. Weaver is being recognized for his contribution to Salina’s youth through his career in public education along with his involvement in high school theatre.

Currently a para-educator for USD 305, Weaver expressed the importance of building relationships with the children he has been entrusted to help.  Bill is currently working with a thirteen year old autistic boy and tells The Salina Post, “We enjoy doing things together outside of school.  We go on trips, even go out to eat.”

Bill also believes that the performing arts are a great tool to help mold young minds and generously shares his theatrical talent with area high school students.  He has been involved in the Central High theatre program for thirteen years and the South High program for twenty six.  Weaver is currently working on a production of “Hello Dolly” that South High will be presenting.

Bill spoke proudly of students who came into the theater department shy and timid, and later pursuing theatre in college or becoming practicing carpenters for theatrical shows in New York.   “I feel like a proud papa”, Bill stated.

For his passion to mold young minds and for bringing out his students unique gifts and talents, Bill Weaver is being named The Bank VI Hero of the Week.  Thank you Bill – and congratulations!

Bill and his wife Debbie own Dream Weaver Productions. They are best known for their Princess Parties and Murder Mysteries. For additional information, click here.
