Gymnasts to go wild at Tumble in the Jungle

gymMore than 690 gymnasts ages 5 to 18 from across the state will participate in the 4th annual Tumble in the Jungle gymnastics competition sponsored by the Salina Gemstars Booster Club on March 8 and 9.

Competition will be begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday with awards immediately following each competition level. More than 20 teams from Salina and surrounding communities will be attending the weekend long meet.

Teams from as far away as Colby, Wichita, Kansas City and Hutchinson will also be in attendance at the AAU sanctioned meet.

The gymnasts will compete in 4 events: floor, uneven bars, balance beam, and vault and receive an all around score. Tumble in the Jungle will showcase athletes, on a team and individual basis.

This is the first time the gymnastics meet will be held at the Hangar Indoor Sports Complex, 2625 Arnold Court, Salina, KS located near the Salina Regional Airport.
