Ruth Ann Kesl Russell, 78, passed away Tuesday, April 8th at her home in Wichita. She was born inConcordia on December 5, 1935, the daughter of I.R. and Melva Davis. Ruth married Jim Kesl in 1958 and they lived most of their lives in Salina. Jim passed away in 1985. She married Joe Russell in 1999 and they made their home in Wichita. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; sister, Neva Sterling; and infant twin grandsons, Jared and Andrew Kesl.
Survivors include her husband, Joe, of Wichita; Ruth’s three children, Brad Kesl and wife, Karen, of Manhattan, Bruce Kesl, of Lawrence, and Becky Jennings and husband, Randy, of Salina; grandson, Taylor Kesl and granddaughter, Chantel Schuster; and Joe’s children, Aaron Russell and wife, Stephanie, of Emporia, Derek Russell and wife, Sandra, Wichita, and Todd Russell and wife, Jennifer, Salina; granddaughter, Kaitlynn Russell, grandson, Hank Russell and granddaughter, Alyssa Russell. Ruth has 2 brothers, Norman Davis and wife, Debbie, of Ottawa, and Harry Davis, of Warsaw Missouri.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Monday April 14, 2014 at the Ryan Mortuary, in Salina. Inurnment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 439 North McLean Blvd, Suite 100, Wichita, KS. 67201.

Rick H. McAdams, 62, Salina, died Monday, April 7, 2014 after a twelve-year battle with leukemia. He was born February 19, 1952 in Salina to Howard Benedict and Lila Janet (Tennancour) McAdams. He was a lifetime Salina resident. Rick graduated from Salina High School in 1970 and attended Kansas Technical Institute. In 2014, he retired from Philips Lighting after 42 years of employment. Rick was in his twenty-seventh year of sobriety and was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He served in AA in the Kansas area and his home group in Salina. He supported other members of the fellowship with committed action and passion.
His father preceded him in death. Rick is survived by his mother, Lila McAdams; son, Ryan McAdams-Pivonka; daughter-in-law, Andrea; grandson, Isaac; sisters, Janis (Joe) Plumer and Sherie (Mark) Bell; stepsons, Devan and Jamie; former wives, Meg Pivonka, Mitzi Smith, and Meg McAdams; and special friend, RaeAnn Middleton.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 743 E. Magnolia Rd., Salina, with Pastor Richard Monson officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date. The family suggests memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Salina Animal Shelter, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation.
