Celeta M. Serrien, 79, Minneapolis, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis. She was born July 24, 1934 in Miltonvale to Levi and Julia (Wells) Matson.

Celeta was a graduate of Miltonvale High School and she was united in marriage with Donald J. Serrien on October 3, 1954. She worked at the telephone office in Miltonvale and she worked for many years as an aide at the Ottawa County Health Department. Celeta was a charter member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church both in Miltonvale.

She was preceded in death by her half-brother Clifford Matson.

Survivors include her husband Donald; sons Kyle Serrien and Karl Serrien and his wife Paula; brother Arden Matson; two grandchildren Kollin and Kelsey Serrien; six step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 17 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Auxiliary Fair Stand Fund or the American Heart Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Christy Lynn Barnes, 42, of Salina, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born Aug. 10, 1971, in Onawa, Iowa.Survivors: mother, Sandra (Gerald) Bennett; sister, Leslie Chrilders; nieces, Alexis and Ginger Chrilders; nephew, Miles Chrilders; great-niece, December; great-nephew, Cooper; and aunt, Linda Bennett. Preceded in death by: infant daughter, Selena Barnes; father, Jerry Barnes; and grandmother, Mildred Shook.

Mary Jean Huff, 86, of Salina, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born April 23, 1927, inClay Center, the daughter of John and Gladys (Bengamin) Pogue.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, James W. Huff; parents; son, Bob Huff; brothers, John and James Pogue; and sisters, JoAnne Pogue and Donna Wells.

Survivors include: sons, John Huff, of Salina, James Huff and wife, Jackie, of McComb, Okla., Richard Huff and wife, Marsha, of Corbett, Ore., and Jerry Huff, of Salina; daughter, Barbara Bittle and husband, Nicholas, of Sandy, Ore.; sister, Jane Johnson, of Salina; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Memorials: Wounded Warriors Project in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.

Lola Belle Stephens, 82, of Salina, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014. She was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Eureka, to Gilbert and Ethel (Longfellow) Lewis. Lola was married for 63 years to retired Lt. Col. Charlie L. Stephens, who preceded her in death.

Her hobbies included making clothes, bowling and researching on the internet. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by her daughter, Leanna Huscher and husband, Charles; and grandson, Jason Huscher. She was a loved wife, mother and grandmother.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Ryan Mortuary. Ties are optional andcasual dress is requested. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 14, with family greetingfriends from 6-7 p.m. at the mortuary.
