The Salina Post was in contact with Captain Mike Sweeney of the Salina Police Department regarding a shooting early this morning.

At approximately 2:30 am Sunday morning there were shots fired in front of the Inferno on north Santa Fe.

A shell casing was found at 128 N Santa Fe. Two shots went through the front window of The Arena at 121 N Santa Fe. The owner was sleeping inside the building at the time, he did not have injuries.

The suspect who shot the rifle is described as a 5’ 8’’ black male who is approximately 200 pounds. The suspect went behind the Inferno and used a vehicle to leave.  There were others that left the scene at the same time, no information is yet available as to if they were with the suspect. There are multiple vehicles that are believed to be involved with the incident. These vehicles were described as a newer model white sedan, a newer model black Crown Victoria and another vehicle with no description.

At approximately the same time a male in his mid twenties was confronted behind the Inferno and stabbed. The stab wound is not life threatening. There is no information as to if these two incidents are related yet.
