Captain Mike Sweeney said Monday morning, Officers were sent to the 100 block of N. Santa Fe about 2:30am to report of shots fired near the Inferno. Sweeney said two shots from a high power rifle were fired from the plaza area north of the Inferno near the Kansas State Parole Office, 128 N. Santa Fe.
The shots damaged a window and door at The Arena, 127 N Santa Fe. A sign inside the business was also damaged. Damage is estimated at $1,400. The owner of the business who was asleep inside was not hurt.
While investigating the shooting, Officers were then sent to the emergency room at Salina Regional Health Center where a 26-year-old Salina man was being treated for a stab wound to the stomach. The victim said he was stabbed in the area of the back exit at the Inferno. The wound was not life threatening.
Sweeney said if anyone has information in connection with either the shooting or stabbing, you are ask to call the Salina Police Department or Salina-Saline County Crimestoppers.
