Monday night at the Salina City Commissioner meeting, the purchase of a new 1500 GPM fire engine was approved unanimously. The new fire engine will cost just over $473,000.

The engine will be capable of using 1500 gallons of water per minute, this is why it is called the 1500 GPM fire engine.
