The BANK VI Hero of the Week is Jane Gates, Executive Director of The Stiefel Theatre in Downtown Salina.

In just a few short years, Gates and her team have transformed the old Fox Theatre into a viable destination point for entertainers crossing America – now known as The Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Jane exhibits a special flair for knowing what acts makes sense for this market, and our community has been fortunate to have someone of her abilities stepping up to manage the theatre.  Her talents in marketing and the genuine care she shows performers and their teams when they arrive in Salina really makes a difference.

When The Salina Post arrived at the theatre to interview Gates Friday morning, we found her in the green room cleaning up after the Rob Thomas concert held the night before.  She humbly thanked BANK VI for recognizing her, but was quick to point out that everything that happens at The Stiefel is a team effort.

“I have been blessed and fortunate to connect with the culture in this community since the day I arrived here.  I have a great staff, a great board of directors, and The Stiefel Theatre is all of us,” said Gates.
