The Art a la Carte concert series on Friday, April 25th will feature Ann Zimmerman and Sunset Elementary School third graders. The half-hour performances begin at 12:20 p.m. each Friday and are held at Campbell Plaza in the 100 block of south Santa Fe.

Zimmerman and Sunset Elementary School third graders will present songs from Zimmerman’s latest album release, “MEADOWLARK: Songs for the Child in You,” her fourth recording and her first especially for children. Accompanying the students will be instrumentalists Dean Kranzler (percussion), Wendy Moshier (violin), Ashley Wheeler (bass) and Bob Brandt (guitar).

The album also features two songs by Zimmerman, who has performed hundreds of school concerts in Salina and around the Great Plains. The album’s title song, “Meadowlark,” features the call of the Western Meadowlark and was chosen as a finalist in the 2013 Great American Song contest in the folk/Americana division.

In case of inclement weather, Art a la Carte performances are held at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts, 151 S. Santa Fe.
