Despite the strong winds and storms that rolled across the state on Wednesday there have been no reports of significant damage. Power was out briefly to a few Weststar customers in Sedgwick County.
High winds did topple a tree on the Kansas Wesleyan campus and Salina South High School students found electricity restored just in time for the school day to begin.
Only one injury was reported. A semi-truck was blown off I-70 Wednesday night near Salina. The driver was hospitalized.
Logan, Ford and Meade Counties reported hail. In addition to the gusts that forced the Semi off I-70, the strongest wind gusts, 58-60 miles per hour were reported in Norton and Phillips Counties.
Area firefighters were busy into the early morning hours of Thursday.
A cigarette is being blamed for the blaze in the north part of Saline County.
Lightning was responsible for setting additional fires in Ottawa County.
