Wind blows over semi Wednesday night

KHPGusty winds from dying thunderstorms blow over a semi east of Salina on I-70 late Wednesday night.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 53-year-old Randy Bartlett of Assaria was driving westbound about 10 miles east of Salina about 10:45p.m., when a gust of wind hit the semi, causing it to overturn into the north ditch. Bartlett was taken to Salina Regional Health Center to be checked for possible injuries.

Information from the National Weather Service in Wichita indicated that a wind gust of 65-miles-per-hour was reported just southeast of Salina about the same time.
