The works of the Salina Senior Center wood carving group will be on display May 1, 2014, during Salina Arts and Humanities First Thursday Art Rush.
The Wood Carving Showcase is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. May 1, 2014, on the first floor of the Salina Senior Center, 245 N. Ninth. A variety of works carved by the men and women of the group will be on display. In addition, several of the group members will be on hand to demonstrate wood carving techniques.
The event is open to the public at no charge. Refreshments will be served.
Additionally, the showcase will kick off the Saline County Commission on Aging’s (COA) celebration of Older Americans Month throughout the month of May. A variety of activities are planned at both the COA’s facilities – the Salina Senior Center and Sunflower Adult Day Services.
