McPherson Police took a woman into protective custody late Sunday afternoon after she had barricaded herself in a home, and the incident caused a lockdown at McPherson College.

According to releases on Facebook from McPherson Police, the suicidal woman was taken into custody for treatment and care about 5:15 without any incident.

The college was placed on lockdown because of the proximity to the situation in the 300 block of N. Carrie St.

Students were asked to stay in their rooms and not to leave campus. The incident began a little after 3p.m. Sunday afternoon.
