Orlanda Gay, 82, of Salina, died Friday, April 25, 2014.
TSGT Orlanda Gay was born July 26, 1931, in Benton, La. He served as the Fire Chief for Fire Crash Rescue in the Air Force for 20 years, being stationed at various bases around the world. Soon after he retired, he became a teaching cottage parent at the Department of Social and Rehabilitation ServicesKansas Vocational Rehabilitation Center for 20 years. He was devoted in his faith, and served as Head Usher and as an Elder at First Baptist Church, Salina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Gay Sr. and Donzell Coleman Gay; his wife of 49 years, Lois T. Gay; his son, Reginald B. Gay; and his siblings, Raleigh Gay, LaVersia Gay, Dorothy Wilson and Tommy Gay.
Survivors include his son, Mike Gay, of Manhattan; two daughters, Yolanda Gay, of Topeka, and Michelle Gay, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five brothers; and sisters, Lenora Moore, Alviny, Wallace, Theresia and Roosevelt Jr.; two grandchildren, Michael S. Gay, of Salina, and Christian Nicole, of Manhattan; three stepgrandchildren, Natascha, Daniela and Gina Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Guevara, of Fairfax, Va., Michael A. Gay, of St. Louis, and Yael Bishop, of Manhattan.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Ryan Mortuary, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at the First Baptist Church, Salina. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the National Parkinson Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Dale Ross Pinkall, 79, Salina, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Dale was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Lindsborg. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Carl and Rhoda (Fredrickson) Pinkall.
He worked for more than 25 years in sales and service for Brown Welding, Lightner Welding and Lampton Welding. He also had worked for the Salina Auto Auction.
Dale married Joan Marie Brown on Jan. 16, 1960, in Bennington. She survives him, as do his son, Steven (Kim) Pinkall, of Salina, and daughter, Jana (Jerry) Winter, of Brookville. He has three grandchildren, Tayler Pinkall and Jared and Katelynn Winter.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. There will be a private family inurnment at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg. Memorials are suggested to the church.

Milford Dean “Mel” Morrison, 88, of Salina, died April 18, 2014. He was born May 23, 1925, in Salina, the son of Paul and Mildred (Snyder) Morrison. Milford was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Morrison, of Salina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, parents; stepmother, Alice Morrison; one brother, Charles Morrison; and one sister, Cleo Frye.
There will be no visitation and no service now. Mr. Morrison’s body was cremated. At a later date, there will be a memorial service with military honors at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.

Carole Ann Richards, 80, of Salina, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was born May 28, 1933, in Salina, the daughter of LaVerne and Violet (Snyder) Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Richards.
Survivors include a son, David Richards and wife Jo, of New Cambria; daughter, “Rene” Cyndi Schleret, of Haysville; and grandchildren, Drew Baumbach, of Clay Center, Nicholas Schleret, of Haysville, and Allysa Crawford and husband Jesse, of San Antonio.
