Keith R. Bacon, 90, Ada, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.   He was born July 21, 1923 in Salina to Gilbert and Flora (Sink) Bacon.

Keith grew up in Culver and he was a graduate of Culver High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1942 – 1946. On July 1, 1945 he was united in marriage with Betty Austin in Salina. She passed away on November 10, 2013. They moved to Ada in 1946 where they raised their family. Keith was a longtime farmer and he was an active member of the Ada Methodist Church. He served on the Ada School Board and he enjoyed music and singing for various occasions.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and his son Linn.

Survivors include his children, Redonda Baugh (Scott), Linn’s longtime companion Janet Gowin, Gary Bacon (Rhonda), Royce Bacon (Jean Smith), Max Bacon (Kim), Arlen Bacon, and Jerry Bacon (Joyce); 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 Thursday, May 1 at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Ada. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Transitional Crossroads Unit at the Ottawa CountyHealth Center or the Fairview Cemetery Directory and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.
