South Middle School Sensations Perform at Art la Carte

art-a-la-carte_logoThe Art a la Carte concert series on Friday, May 2nd, will feature the South Middle School Sensations. The half-hour performances begin at 12:20 p.m. each Friday and are held at Campbell Plaza in the 100 block of south Santa Fe.

South Middle School Sensations is an auditioned, select eighth-grade ensemble under the direction of Miriam Gogadi, accompanied by Barb Miller. This year’s ensemble has had the opportunity to participate in the 2nd annual “305 Live!” Salina Education Foundation Benefit Concert, to perform throughout the schools and community, and also will be on the Bravo Salina! stage on Saturday, June 14th at the Smoky Hill River Festival.

The Sensations’ repertoire includes “Elijah Rock,” a traditional spiritual arranged by Roger Emerson, “I Won’t Give Up,” by Jason Mraz and Michael Natter, and a “Footloose” medley arranged by Mark Bymer.

In inclement weather, Art a la Carte performances are held at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts, 151 S. Santa Fe.
