Two Salina residents were arrested Tuesday morning on drug charges , after a police officer recognized one of them had outstanding warrants.

28-year-old Alexander Reyna and 24-year-old Dezaree McQueary were arrested at Casey’s at 9th and Crawford about 9:40am, after they had stopped to fill their car with gas.

Officers stopped the car on the east side of the store, and when Reyna was asked to get out of the car he kept putting his hands toward his pants pocket,officers told him to keep his hands away from his pockets. They did find a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetmine in one of the pockets.

Reyna did resist while being placed into custody. Police found a plastic baggie with 2.4 grams of meth on Reyna in addition to the glass pipe.

McQueary was arrested after getting out of the car, and when she started to walk away from officers, one of the officers grabbed her by the arm, and a loaded .380 caliber handgun fell out of her sweatshirt onto the ground.

A search of the car found more pipes and baggies.

Reyna was booked into jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, felony obstruction, and driving on a suspended license, in addition to his outstanding warrant for criminal threats.

McQueary was arrested of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal carrying of a weapon, and criminal in possession of a firearm.
