UPDATED. After a search of the home Salina Police found no weapons. Captain Mike Sweeney said requested charges against Adam Humphrey and Heather Davis will be felony obstruction and criminal threat. Both subject advised they were not coming out and planned to “shoot it out.” This caused the evacuation of part of the neighborhood and rerouted traffic.

Salina Police are spent Tuesday morning at the northwest Salina home where a four-hour stand off took place Monday afternoon.

Captain Mike Sweeney said that they were waiting for the house at 619 N. 13th to air out after officers used pepper gas to try to flush out 29-year-old Adam Humphrey and 25-year-old Heather Davis during the stand off that began around noon Monday.

Sweeney said the show of force and use of the Special Response Team was after police had received information, that the two were armed and dangerous.

Sweeney said authorities had been looking for both Humphrey and Davis for the last two weeks on outstanding felony warrants.

No new charges against the pair have been filed until after the house has been searched and if any evidence has been collected.

Sweeney said the large number of on-lookers were well behaved, although one man was arrested for disorderly conduct after confronting officers keeping spectators back a safe distance.

Sweeney said the operation was successful because the goal of no one getting hurt was met.
