A fast moving thunderstorm brought wind damage to portions of central Kansas early Wednesday evening.

The most severe damage was in the area of Galva in McPherson County where winds blew over a train west of Galva around 6:20pm. There were reports of roof damage in several areas of McPherson County where winds were estimated between 60 to 80 miles-per-hour.

There were many reports of power lines down, along with tree damage. Several reports of hail were also received.

A command post was set up at the Galva fire station to handle storm damage reports.

The storm moved northeast in Dickinson County where there were reports of winds up to 65 miles-per-hour and golf ball size hail.

Tree damage reported around Carlton, and a report of a home 6 miles southeast of Abilene, had windows knocked out on the south side by either wind or hail.
