On Friday, May 9th, Union Pacific Railroad will begin work on replacing the railroad crossing located on Ash Street, between College Avenue and Chicago Street. The work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, May 13th.

West Ash Street will be closed to through traffic just west of College Avenue, but access can be gained to all properties on either side of the tracks by way of the detour. Eastbound motorists will be directed one block south to State Street at College Avenue and westbound motorists will be directed one block south to State Street at Chicago Street.

City Staff has worked with Union Pacific to minimize the disruption for businesses and the community. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to proceed with caution for the safety of the crews performing the work.
