Salina Public Schools proudly announces the selection of Mike Nulton as the Executive Director of Operations and Rex Boley as Salina West Alternative Program Principal. Both positions are effective July 1, 2014.

Nulton has over 30 years in education. He has been an administrator for nearly 22 years, both as building principal and superintendent. He most recently worked as USD 251 North Lyon County Schools Superintendent with earlier service in USD 242 Weskan and USD 431 Hoisington. Nulton earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology as well as his master’s in Educational Administration from Fort Hays State University. Ken Kennedy, who currently fills this position, is entering retirement on July 1.

Boley will welcome alternative school students as their new principal beginning next fall. He has been an educator for 24 years, most recently serving as Gifted Educational Consultant at USD 305. Prior experiences include agricultural high school teacher and assistant director at Salina Area Technical School. Boley’s bachelor’s is in Agriculture and his master’s is in Education, both earned from Kansas State University. The alternative education principal position opened when Jim Burkhart resigned at the end of the program’s first successful semester.
