A Salina teen finds himself in Juvenile Detention after being caught in the act of going through vehicles in north Salina early Friday morning.

Salina Police were sent just after 1am to the area of Hamilton and 8th street on the report of a car alarm going off.

They met with the owner of the car who said someone had removed items from her car including cigarettes, a lighter, pens, change and a couple of tire gauges.

While checking the area, Officers found 17-year-old Jacob Luther going through another car near Santa Fe and Otis.

Further investigation determined that Luther had gone through a total of six vehicles and removed small items from four of them.

Requested charges against Luther will be six counts of burglary and four counts of theft.

Luther also had an outstanding warrant from Saline County District Court.
