The Salina Police Department will have a new Deputy Chief and four officers are being promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

The department announced on their Facebook page Tuesday morning that Captain Sean Morton has been promoted to Deputy Chief. Morton has been a police officer since 1992.

Officers being promoted to the rank of Sergeant are Officer Chad McCary, Officer Brent Rupert, Detective James Feldman and Officer Chad Burr.

These promotions will all take effect June 16, 2014.
