This weeks BANK VI Hero of the Week is Maribel Panuco.

Maribel is Program Director at Catholic Charities of Northern Kansas, where she’s been employed for the last thirteen years. She oversees Immigration Services, a licensed and accredited immigration service serving thirty one counties in Kansas. In addition, she also heads up the Emergency Assistance Program. This program provides funding for rent, electricity, water and other necessities for those who are struggling financially.

Maribel says she cares greatly about the people she gets to assist and often goes out of her way to make sure they get the help they need. When asked why she does so much, she responded, “I’m doing God’s work. The feeling you get after you help someone? That’s what it’s all about.”
In her spare time, Panuco volunteers with local Boy Scout and Girl Scout youth groups.

Catholic Charites is always looking for volunteers and donations of dry goods to their pantry. In this warm time of the year they are also needing donations of fans for those who are not able to cool their house.
