Two Wichita residents are arrested late Saturday night after stealing a woman’s wallet and using her credit cards to make several purchases before they were stopped.

41-year-old Christopher Sampson and 32-year-old Elizabeth Sampson , took the wallet from the shopping cart of a Salina woman at Dillon’s at 2350 Planet Ave, then used a couple of credit cards to buy cigarettes, and electronics.

Police were able to locate the pair after tracking purchases from the credit card company, and a description of a pickup from video from a convenience store.

Police found the couple leaving Walmart around 11pm with the man carrying a Playstation 4 and a Google Chromebook. The woman as the police approached dropped the stolen wallet.

Both face charges that include identity theft, forgery, criminal use of a financial card, and felony theft.
