KANOPOLIS – Tanna J. Barkley, 58, of Kanopolis Lake, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014. She was born March 25, 1956, in Salina, the daughter of Dallas and Earlene (Conn) Ayers. Tanna was a homemaker. She worked for USD 305 in food service at Meadowlark Ridge School for 11 years and also worked for Consolidated Printing.

Tanna was preceded in death by her father; sister, Chris Hartman; and a grandson, Mason Hodges.

Survivors include her husband, Robert “Buck” Barkley; two daughters, Abbi (Steve) Hodges and Heather (Dolan) Jamison; son, Adam (Amber) Barkley; her mother, Earlene Ayers; brother, Dallas (Kathy) Ayers; and three grandchildren, Trenton Hodges, Kannan Hodges and Iley Jamison.

Cremation has been chosen. There is no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Memorial gifts are to the Tanna J. Barkley Memorial Fund, in care of Ryan Mortuary.

Jeffrey “Rick” Weber, 66, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014. He was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Stillwater, Okla., to Robert and Lou Ann (Tucker) Covert.

Rick knew God blessed him with a voice and talent that eventually led him to a 40-year career in radio, television, film and video production. He graduated from Enid High School (Enid, Okla.) in 1967 and the Midwestern Broadcasting School in Chicago in 1968. He joined the U.S. Army and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He was a radio disc jockey in Wilmington, N.C., and then spent many years in the cable television industry, working for Channel 2 in Enid and Salina Cable TV Channel 6 in Salina. He opened Mid America Productions in 1984, and has owned and operated that business for more than 30 years. Rick was a member of both the Kansas and the National Associations of Broadcasters.

He leaves behind Judy, his best friend and wife of 22 years; daughters, Karrie (Kip) Smythia and Kelly (Dan) Bunker, all of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; stepmother, Kay Covert, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; sisters, Leslie (Rick) Weldon, of Enid, and Robin (Ken) Maguire, of Carmel, Calif.; his grand-children who he loved so much, Morgan Smythia, Riley Unruh, Madison Smythia and Reese Unruh, all of Lee’s Summit; and many nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Lou Ann Weaber, Robert Covert and stepfather, Don Weaber.

“A man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much.” He will be dearly missed by his family, his many friends and his business associates.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. at Ryan’s Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Ryan’s Mortuary. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka (Interstate Highway 70 and Auburn Road)
