A disturbance late Tuesday evening lands a Salina man in jail.
Captain Mike Sweeney said 20-year-old Phillip Humphrey was walking in the 600 block of Viemont about 10:20pm, when he began to exchange words with three people who were standing outside a home at 621 Viemont. Humphrey allegedly tried throwing punches at the three and also threatened them with a knife.
They went back inside the house, and while trying to close the door, Humphrey kicked a 19-year-old male in the stomach. Once the door was closed, Humphrey pounded on the door, and broke a window in the door. The police were called and he ran from the area, but was apprehended near the intersection of Viemont and Crawford by a Saline County Sheriff’s deputy.
Humphrey was arrested on requested charges of aggravated assault, felony obstruction, battery, damage to property, and a minor in consumption of alcohol.
