HAYS- A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Dodge Durango driven by Shelby T. Engling, 21, Natoma was traveling on U.S. 183 three miles north of Hays.

The driver was distracted, and the vehicle ran off the roadway into the east ditch striking a culvert, and rolling an undetermined number of times.

Engling was transported to Hays Medical Center.

The KHP reported he was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
