Monday, September 8, 2014, the City of Salina Department of Public Works will begin repairing traffic signals located at the intersection of Iron Avenue and Fifth Street. The intersection will be a four-way stop during the repairs which are expected to take two to three days, weather permitting.
Beginning Monday, September 8, 2014, Ninth Street, at Pine Street, will be closed for railroad crossing repairs. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, September 11th. Motorists should be prepared for minor delays and should find an alternate route while work is being performed.
The City of Salina Department of Public Works will street sweep Crawford Street to the north city limits and Ninth Street to the east city limits on September 8-12. Property owners are advised to clear their curbs and gutters; parked vehicles and large items prevent street sweeping from occurring. The area will be rescheduled if inclement weather or mechanical problems prevent sweeping.

In addition, the City of Salina is looking for youth to be a part of the Youth on Boards program. This program allows for individuals between the ages of 15-20 attending a secondary- or post-secondary school to serve on certain boards that are noted above. If you are interested in serving the community by becoming a member of one of these boards, commissions or committees, you are asked to fill out a short expression-of-interest form. To be considered for the above appointments, return a completed expression-of-interest form to the City Clerk’s Office by September 22, 2014.
