dug40907Marjorie E. Dugger, 88, of Salina, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. On April 1, 1926, she was born in Republic County to George and Maude (Childs) Rieke. She graduated from Chester, Neb., High School in 1943. Subsequently, she completed correspondence courses through Kansas State University Extension Service to qualify as a schoolteacher. She taught for several years prior to marrying Victor Dugger on Jan. 22, 1948, in Concordia.

Marjorie is survived by her four sons, George Dugger and Mary Winslow, of Lawrence, Ron Dugger and Tricia, of Topeka, and Thomas Dugger and Dan Dugger and Erin Dose, all of Salina; sister, Eleanor Navis, of Belleville; brothers, Duane Rieke, of Belleville, and Zachariah Rieke, of Santa Fe, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents and sister, Esther Moxham.

Marjorie’s wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Ryan Mortuary in Salina. No other Salina services are planned.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled to be held in October in Belleville. An inurnment with graveside services will be scheduled at a later date at Chester Cemetery in Chester.

Memorials may be made to Sunrise Presbyterian Church and are in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.
