Pastor Margaret Davison is this week’s BANK VI Hero of the Week.

Pastor Davison is Executive Pastor at Living Word International Ministries. For the past four years, she has hosted a Back to School Block Party on Willis Street. The block party, which includes games, food and music, has grown each year and was started to focus on getting children essential school supplies before the start of the school year. Since it began, the block party has helped supply 1,500 children from kindergarten to 12th grade with basic essentials.

“We give out school supplies, book bags, jeans, socks, dental supplies, even free haircuts”, stated Davison. Local barbers and hair stylists donate their time to give the haircuts and the supplies are purchased through donations and funds from the church.

“Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ, regardless of their background, and to let everyone know we are here to serve our community.”
