KWU Chorale to perform at Art a la Carte

KWU ChoraleThe Kansas Wesleyan Chorale will perform for the Art a la Carte concert series on Friday, September 26th. These free, outdoor concerts are presented by Salina Arts & Humanities. The concerts take place at Robert Caldwell Plaza, on the commons between the City/County Building and the Salina Public Library. The half-hour performances begin at 12:20 p.m. each Friday and will conclude on October 10th.

The Kansas Wesleyan University Chorale is a select vocal ensemble of approximately 20 students. An audition is held each fall, and membership is based on a one-year commitment. The Chorale performs and entertains in a variety of venues on and off campus throughout the academic year, and is conducted by Director of Choirs Ken Hakoda.

For the Art a la Carte concert, the Kansas Wesleyan University Chorale will sing a variety of a capella songs from Madrigals and spirituals to popular music. Director Hakoda describes the repertoire, “It will be a fun and up-tempo concert for everyone to enjoy.”
