Gary Swartzendruber says he is not a dead beat dad, and J.R. Claeys says he does actually live in the 69th Kansas House District that he represents. In a rematch from the 2012 elections, both candidates answered questions concerning allegations made against each of them recently in the campaign Tuesday at a candidates forum at Kansas Wesleyan University.

About the only thing the two agreed on is that tattoo artist should be licensed by the state. They disagreed on education funding, Claeys said the legislature addressed the issue and is providing more funding to education, while Swartzendruber said less money was being provided for education.

Claeys said he is opposed to expansion of Medicaid in Kansas, Swartzendruber said he supports expansion. on the issue of taxes, Swartzendruber said he the state should discontinue upcoming tax giveaways planned next year. Claeys said tax cuts passed by the legislature provide relief for working families in Kansas, and the tax base must be broaden, and wasteful spending reduced.
