Final fall Art a la Carte set for Friday

10-10 art a la carteThe Prairie Wind Harp Ensemble will perform the final presentation of the fall Art a la Carte concert series on Friday, October 10. These free, outdoor concerts are presented by Salina Arts & Humanities. The concerts take place at Robert Caldwell Plaza, on the commons between the City/County Building and the Salina Public Library. The half-hour performances begin at 12:20 p.m. each Friday and conclude this week.

The Prairie Wind Harp Ensemble originated approximately 10 years ago, as an outgrowth of the Community Learning and Skill Sharing program of the Salina Public Library. CLASS members wanted to continue to meet and play together after the end of the formal sessions. The group continues to meet monthly as a harp circle, and enjoys performing at various functions. Directed by RoJean Loucks, the Circle is open to harp players at any level.

Repertoire for the October 10th Art a la Carte concert will include music performed at the recent McPherson Scottish Festival, plus a few other favorite pieces.

In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held at the Salina Art Center, 242 S. Santa Fe.
