October 8 has been a much anticipated day for the Kansas Wesleyan University community. Last October, The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation graciously offered $750,000—the last 10 percent of the $7.5M campaign—through a challenge grant to encourage the university to complete its fundraising campaign for the Sports Complex by today.

The university has submitted paperwork to The Mabee Foundation this week. Officials anticipate it taking at least a week to receive confirmation that they have met the requirements set forth in the grant. Once the university receives official confirmation, it will schedule a press announcement.

“We are excited and look forward to officially announcing very soon that we have made it,” said Matt Thompson, Ph.D., President and CEO.
