Salina Police investigating a theft from three employees at Brown Mackie College in Salina. Two money orders, $40 in cash and a $25 gift card from Applebees were taken between December 11th and December 18th. Loss is placed at $1,165.

A Salina Central High School teacher reports a ring she owns was taken from a classroom at the school between December 15th and 16th. Peggy Kleiber describes the ring as a double band yellow gold ring with diamonds. Loss is estimated at $1,001.

Counterfeit money continues to show up at banks in Salina from the deposits of local businesses. On Monday a bogus $10 bill was found at the Bank of Tescott.

Salina Police continue to investigate a case of theft from the 1st Bank of Kansas. Captain Mike Sweeney said a man came into the bank on December 8th and opened a checking account. On the 8th and again the 9th he deposited two checks on an account from Sunflower Bank. The first check was for $1,400, the second for $1,450. The man made several ATM withdrawals totaling $2,850 before the bank learned on the 10th that the checks were not real. The case was reported to police on December 10th.
