A Salina man reports to police someone broke into his home during the day Wednesday and stole jewelry.

Michael Garvert said between 6a.m. to 6p.m., someone forced open the back door to his home in the 200 block of N. Phillips.

Taken were two gold wedding bands, a necklace, and a 1979 Plainville High School class ring. The jewelry was taken from a couple of metal tins in a bedroom.

Loss and damage is placed at $1,525.
